Car terminal

The current car terminal located in the port area of ​​the port of Sète, strategic location in the Mediterranean, is the result of a partnership between the port authority and one of the largest car operators of Southern Europe Sintax Logistics.

The terminal has a ground area of ​​over 14 hectares, a useful storage area 137 000 m2. It has a nominal storage capacity of 7500 cars and can handle more than 100 000 cars a year. Currently the port of Sète concentrate it activity on vehicles from production sites in Southern Europe (Morocco, Romania, Turkey) and Asia (Korea and India) on more than one hundred call per year so more than 90 000 units.

The video surveillance system set up by the port allows control 24/24 storage areas to ensure the treatment of the cars in optimal conditions of time and safety.

Regarding the port infrastructure, the port of Sète provide three specialised mooring lines for ships docking rear and side ramp, in addition of multipurpose banks for an average draft of 12 m. To accompany the dynamics of this traffic, the port infrastructure will be strengthened with the commissioning in 2015 of a new deep water quay of 467 meters long which can accommodate ships of over 260 m. The port of Sète aims in 2014-2015 to deal with over 120 000 vehicles.

The hinterland where are located all car dealers has an excellent way out through the port of Sète which offers direct access to the A9 just 8 km from the port. Furthermore, the port area is directly connected to the national rail network through its 40 km of intra-port routes. Finally its position enables it to offer a strategic interface between ocean services and marine services short. This terminal is designed to meet the demands of importers and exporters of cars in terms of time savings, capacity and quality service.
